Javier Arturo López (born February 22, 1983) is a Mexican professional baseball pitcher with the Diablos Rojos del México of the Mexican League. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres in 2009. Career Los Angeles Dodgers López signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an international free agent on February 12, 2001. He made his professional debut with the rookie ball GCL Dodgers, recording a 5-1 record and 2.04 ERA in 14 appearances. Javier Alfonso López Palmer (born July 11, 1977) is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball pitcher. He pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies (2003–05), Arizona Diamondbacks (2005), Boston Red Sox (2006–09), Pittsburgh Pirates (2010), and San Francisco Giants (2010–16). He was a left-handed specialist known for his sidearm delivery. López attended the University of Virginia, earning a degree in psychology despite leaving early to begin his baseball career. Francisco Javier López (1794 – 24 January 1836) was an Argentine soldier, a leader in the Unitarian Party and several times Governor of Tucumán Province. Early struggles Francisco Javier López was born in Monteros, Tucumán Province in 1794. Although poor, his family claimed descent from the founders of the almost mythical city of Esteco. As a youth he devoted himself to horse racing, the favorite entertainment in San Miguel de Tucumán, at the "''Campo de las Carreras''" where the Battle of Tucumán would later be fought.
